Job Overview

We are seeking an ambitious, data driven, result oriented Senior Manager, Distribution with a proven track record to design, build, operated and optimize distribution operations across our supply chain. This role is critical in ensuring efficient hub operations, effective management of third-party job work, enhancing the distribution network and accurate inventory control. The successful candidate will focus on maximizing throughput, controlling distribution costs, and ensuring financial and operational accuracy within the distribution network.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Hub Efficiency

  • Lead and manage distribution hubs to increase throughput while maintaining quality and safety standards.
  • Implement process improvements to optimize workflow and reduce bottlenecks in hub operations.
  • Monitor key performance metrics and adjust strategies to enhance hub efficiency
  • Enhance the Distribution network across geographies.

2. 3rd-Party Job-Work Efficiency

  • Oversee the efficiency of third-party job work operations, ensuring that all tasks are completed on time and meet quality standards.
  • Collaborate with job work vendors to streamline processes, reduce lead times, and improve overall performance.
  • Evaluate and optimize job work productivity to align with company goals

3. Mass Balance Control

  • Ensure mass balance accuracy across the distribution network by tracking the flow of materials and products.
  • Develop and implement controls to monitor and verify mass balance across all distribution points.
  • Regularly audit mass balance data and resolve discrepancies promptly.

4. Distribution Centre Inventory Management

  • Manage inventory levels across distribution centres, including hubs, job-work sites, and vendor locations.
  • Ensure accurate tracking and reporting of all SKUs, maintaining optimal inventory levels to meet demand.

5. Distribution Cost Management

  • Control operational costs within the distribution network, ensuring expenses stay within budgetary limits.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities across distribution operations without compromising service quality.
  • Provide regular financial reports on distribution costs and implement corrective actions as needed.

6. Financial Accuracy – Job-Work and Hub Transactions

  • Ensure financial accuracy in job work and hub transactions, including invoicing, payments, and cost allocations.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to reconcile financial records and address any discrepancies.
  • Maintain transparency and accountability in all financial transactions related to distribution.

7. Vendor Management

  • Manage relationships with job work vendors and distribution centre owners ensuring utilization, quality improvement, and cost optimization.
  • Negotiate contracts and service agreements with vendors to secure favourable terms and high-quality services.
  • Regularly review vendor performance and implement strategies for continuous improvement.

8. Communication and Collaboration

  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, including procurement, logistics, Finance, warehouse, Sales, and production teams.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment of assigned activities with organizational goals.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics and Distribution,
  • Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in distribution or supply chain management, with at least 3
    years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven experience in managing distribution centres, SKU wise inventory management
    and control, managing vendor relationships.
  • Strong knowledge of mass balance and quality control, inventory management, cost optimization and wastage or loss minimization.
  • Excellent financial acumen and ability to manage budgets and reconcile financial records
  • Ready to Travel within the region as needed and should be comfortable with field work as and when required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in designing, developing and operating distribution networks in industries like – Manufacturing, FMCG, Agriculture, F&B, Retail, Sales & Marketing, E-commerce.
  • Familiarity with environmental and regulatory compliance related to distribution operations.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to drive process improvements and manage teams effectively.
